Dark lip neutralization is a specialized semi-permanent makeup technique designed to lighten and balance the color of dark or unevenly pigmented lips. This process is ideal for clients with hyperpigmentation or naturally dark lips who desire a more even, lighter, and softer lip tone. The procedure begins with a consultation to assess the lips and determine the best pigment shades for neutralization, often using warm or orange-based tones to counteract the cool or dark undertones. After numbing the lips for comfort, the artist uses a PMU machine to deposit pigment carefully into the lips, layering the color to achieve a natural and balanced effect. Healing typically takes 7-10 days, with a touchup recommended after 6-8 weeks to refine the results and ensure even color correction.
